Origin of Purple Candy

Purple Candy is a luscious indica-dominant hybrid with striking flowers that provides a profoundly calming body high. This strain was developed by BC Bud Depot, a breeder founded in British Columbia, who are also the creators of God Bud and Optimus Prime. They crossed their own Sweet Tooth with the vibrant Northern California favorite Mendocino Purps to create this hybrid.

Taste and Smells

The blossoms of Purple Candy provide a pleasant berry and grape smell after being properly cured. There are almost some pine-like base tones. The buds provide a strong musky and earthy aroma when ground. In a joint or a pipe, Purple Candy burns with a flavorful smoke that is smooth and easy to enjoy. According to its name, the strain boasts a mouthwatering fruit flavor on the exhale and a sugary, candy-like personality.

Appearance

Large, vibrant blooms are how Purple Candy sets itself apart. These buds typically have a big size and hold together in thick, tapering shapes that resemble tiny pinecones. The comparatively small leaves of the compact, buds overlap and coil firmly inward toward their central stems, giving them an indica-like shape. The leaves themselves are a deep forest green color with occasional purple flecks. These purple hues result from the presence of anthocyanins, which are inherited from the parent strain Mendocino Purps. These already vibrant nuggets are then covered in hazy white trichomes, which increase their stickiness and contribute to their high psychoactive effects.

The High

Purple Candy can produce a sluggish, creeping high that may not fully bloom for several minutes after users have smoked it.  The buzz from Purple Candy may be helpful for analytical problem-solving or some creative brainstorming sessions.

The strain’s calming indica side becomes apparent when the high wears down. Starting at the neck, a tingle spreads outward through the body’s center and limbs. At this stage, it can be enjoyable to relax and finish some leisure reading or catch some TV.
